Principal Guarantee
Overview
The Principal Guarantee is an optional fee setting for international wire payouts. When enabled, it ensures the full USD amount you send is delivered to the recipient's non-US bank account, with no deductions by intermediary banks.
When You Would Use This
You are sending a payout to an international (non-US) bank account that pays out in USD, and you want to guarantee the recipient receives the full amount without intermediary bank deductions.
How It Works
When you add an international bank account that pays out in USD, you can choose between two fee options:
Principal Guarantee (Recommended)
- A $10.00 USD payout fee is applied per transfer.
- No intermediary banks will deduct from the transfer amount.
- The full value shown in your transfer quote will be delivered to the recipient.
Standard Wire
- No payout fee from LiquidTrust.
- Intermediary banks along the transfer route may deduct fees (typically $40–$70).
- The recipient may receive less than the amount you sent.
Steps
- Go to Settings > Payment Accounts > External Accounts.
- Find the international bank account that pays out in USD.
- Click Fee Options on the payment method card.
- Choose Principal Guarantee or Standard Wire.
- Click Confirm.
What Happens Next
Your selection is saved for that payment method. When you initiate a payout to that account:
- If Principal Guarantee is enabled, the transfer quote will include the $10.00 fee and the Transfer Out modal will show a confirmation that the full amount will be delivered.
- If Standard Wire is selected, no fee is charged by LiquidTrust, but intermediary banks may deduct from the transfer.
Notes
- Fee Options is only available for international (non-US) bank accounts with USD payouts.
- You can change your fee option at any time from the payment method card.
- The Principal Guarantee fee is shown in the transfer quote before you confirm a payout.
