Verifying Your Business
Overview
Before you can send or receive payments, your business must complete a verification process. This is required for regulatory compliance and ensures the safety of all transactions on the platform.
When You Would Use This
Business verification begins automatically after you create your account. Your dashboard will display an onboarding checklist to guide you through each step.
How It Works
Verification involves three main areas:
- Business details — information about your company
- Business documents — supporting documentation
- Identity verification — for owners and administrators
Steps
1. Business Details
For a business, you will provide:
- Business name and DBA (if applicable)
- Country of registration and entity type
- Tax ID
- Business address (street, city, state/region, postal code)
- Phone number, business description, and website
For an individual or sole proprietor, you will provide:
- Your name and location
- Entity type and tax ID
- Address, phone, business description, and website or LinkedIn
You will also add any additional business owners (up to 4) and administrators.
2. Business Documents
Upload required documents based on your entity type. Common document types include:
- Tax ID documentation
- Articles of Incorporation or Organization
- Certificate of Formation
- Operating Agreement
- Bylaws
- Business License
3. Owner & Admin Identity Verification (KYC)
Each owner and administrator must complete identity verification:
- Enter personal details (name, date of birth, tax ID/SSN, address).
- Complete identity verification through Persona (government-issued ID and selfie).
If you have added other owners or administrators, they will receive an email with a link to complete their own verification.
Business Verification Status
After submitting your information, your business will be assigned a verification status:
- Verified — your business has been approved and you can transact
- Pending — verification is in progress
- Incomplete — additional information is needed
- Under Review — your submission needs additional compliance review; contact support for next steps
You can check your verification status in Settings > Business Profile.
What Happens Next
Once your business is verified, you can add a payment method and begin sending and receiving payments.
Notes
- You may be asked to provide additional documents if verification cannot be completed automatically.
- Each owner and admin must complete identity verification individually.
- A payment method must also be added before you can transact.
